This is where you learn the tips and tricks of botanists. You will learn how to see leaf structure, arrangement, and understand what the plant is communicating to you through its leaves. This is where April teaches you how to master flowers because if a plant is flowering you can ALWAYS identify it with 100% accuracy. So, this training is integral for ALL herbalists and foragers wanting to deepen their practice with wild plants.

AYURVEDA AND HERBAL ENERGETICS

Having a understanding of Ayurveda and Herbal Energetics is irreplaceable for any herbalist or healer wanting to move beyond books. Ayurveda, the Science of Life, is a 5000+ year old traditional system of healthcare in India. Once you understand the principles of nature through an Ayurvedic lens, you will understand the medicine of any wild herb you connect with.

April will give you a foundation in Ayurveda and herbal energetics to build upon for a lifetime.

April shares important aspects of herbal energetics and ties it back to the herbal actions in Western herbalism. The goal is for you to learn from living plants—not from a book or jar.

THE LANGUAGE OF PLANTS -LEARN TO READ THE BOTANY AND MEDICINE OF WILD HERBS

This is where April draws on her 30+ years with medicinal and edible plants, to teach you how to recongize new medicinal plants in the field. You will receive two LIVE lessons with guest teach Nishanth Gurav, Ethnobotanist from India. Nishanth is studying the oldest tribe in India, the Gond Tribe. He has spent years recording their connection with plants, from what they eat, crafts, day-to-day use, and special ceremonies, as this image featured. LIVE CALLS

Bring the wild plants that speak to you to our live calls for guidance on how to receive their medicine.

You can also send April images of many wild herbs during the program, and she will help you cultivate a relationship with them.

You will have weekly live calls on Wednesday, at 12PM ET. Your live calls begin September 30th, 2026, until December 2nd, 2026. As we know that many students occur in different time zones, these calls will be recorded so you can watch on your own time. Live attendance is recommended.

In Person Botanical Immersion During Your Training!

April honors the need for human connection. Plant and medicine people need to interact in person. As such, you will have a chance to meet fellow students and work one-on-one with April during your experience. As part of this course, we will circle November 14th and November 15th, 2026. You will receive two days of in person botanical and medicinal teachings at no additional expense to you. Our goal is to help you embody what you learned during your Medical Botany experience before graduating.

The in person immersion is optional, but we HIGHLY encourage you to come for the weekend, so we can learn from each other, and the plants.

We will meet in Charleston, SC. There is no additional expense for you other then travel, meals, and lodging.
